Amanda Renée was raised in Ridgewood, New Jersey and now wriggles her toes in the warm coastal Carolina sands. Her career began when she was discovered through Harlequin’s So You Think You Can Write contest in 2013. Today, she writes full-time alongside her Schnoodle sidekick, Duffy.

 

 

She began writing around the age of nine but didn't take it very seriously until she received critical acclaim for a school essay lambasting music censorship.  From that point forward, she had her eye on a writing career. She originally wrote a suspense entitled Smoke and Mirrors that, "was so horrible, it belonged in the trash".  Years later, she moved on to contemporary romance and continually climbs the best-seller charts.

 

"I'm a very eclectic person. I don't follow the rules...I don't break the rules...I just tend to make my own, within reason. Ordinary is boring. I'm all for individuality. What one person may think is odd, is truly art to another. Be your own person, follow your dreams and if someone doesn't like it, they'll get over it. But don't criticize someone for feeling the way they do. If we were all the same, what a monotonous and mundane world this would be." 

 

Whenever she’s not working, she almost always has a camera in her hand. She enjoys road trips, songwriting, playing guitar and piano, and anything involving animals.
